Beginners' Guide To Aperture

Description

EDIT: Whoa, that's bright! :o
If you're finding it difficult to make out details, the Photobucket version is a bit less strenuous on the eyes.

Part one (of four) of my MA project involving the creation of animated reusable learning objects, in this case explaining aperture, shutter speed, ISO and exposure to first-year BA Photography students (or anyone who wants to learn about them).

This is probably the most fun project I've ever been involved with. If you'd told me a couple of years ago that I'd be using animation to teach I'd have probably laughed!

I have been getting some really good feedback from students and staff across the university though, and they seem to be genuinley excited about seeing the finished pieces. Which is nice!

I'm really keen to receive feedback on it, especially from photographers as it'll eventually be used officially by students in my university and probably elsewhere (so I want it looking as good as I can!).

I'm currently working to fix the pacing of all three shorts (as they're a little too quick in some areas), as well as tidying up the drawings, changing some of the photo examples and just generally aiming to make it look a little more professional.

:iconshaunjoyce: graciously allowed his likeness to be used as the main character. Hope he's not too horrified! :giggle:

Content warning on this one due to head explosion.

Also, if anyone's at all curious about the lyrics to the two second wall-of-noise at the end, the only word in it is "BEEAAANS".

Oh and I also quite like the Amen Break, I just can't stand tinny, loud, mobile phone music.

Very nice animation, its lovely and clearly explained on both the shutter speed and aperture.

I think i'll direct people to it instead of trying to explain why using 4F on a long shot landscape doesn't quite work and then dealing out a polite commnt to the usual reply of 'its just a photo I took' All the while I sit there with an image of their avatar  with is tongue stuck out grinning at me whilst I grit my teeth thinking why did you want me to waste my time on it then.

So I pick up my axe, go for a stroll and break their iphones. By sending them here, you'll educate them with good animations and they'll get to keep their iphones........and I wont go to prison -_-  Sorry I don't normally write these sort of comments but I spent most of the day critique work and it gets to a point where I go funny. If you're lucky you'll catching me singing at a someone.

Take care. :D
